Droid Bionic ARena app live on Android Market, the game starts shortly

Ready to try your hand at winning a Motorola Droid Bionic, and another "machine" to control with it?  To make it even better, how about using a fancy Augmented Reality app to assist in the nationwide scavenger hunt?  Yeah, now we have your attention. 

The Droid Bionic ARena scavenger hint kicks off Sep. 4, with a chance to win one of 16 Motorola Droid Bionic smartphones, coupled with an HDTV, an Intel laptop, A Motorola Xoom, or a video streaming enabled Quadcopter to pair it to.  Four folks will win each day, and the winners will be announced when the whole thing gets wrapped up on Sep. 8.  It's free to play (of course), and it looks pretty interesting -- install the Android app, collect a randomly dropped render of a prize, and each one you grab is an entry in the drawing for the prize.  See the Droid Does site for the full details.  We've got a pic of the UI in action as well as the download link after the break.

Balance is a challenging mouse-based physics game

Years of computer use have taught us that the mouse cursor is "above" the windows. It doesn't push anything around; at least not without you clicking anything.

Balance takes that ingrained bit of knowledge and cancels it out. Suddenly your cursor (a blue dot) is solid - and if it touches the blue block, it pushes it around.

Your job is to use your cursor to nudge the blue block over to the orange block. You will have to push it, lift it and even flip it on its side, and then balance it. It's a very tricky game - one I wouldn't recommend tackling with a laptop trackpad.

Still, if you have a mouse and a hankering for a little physics gameplay, this is a cute little game. I like how the blue block never stops smiling, it makes me feel better about the world.

Bell prepping its LTE network, Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Tab 8.9 to be offered at launch?

We've known that Bell's intended to make the jump to LTE for nearly three years, but the Canadian carrier has kept incredibly silent about when or how it was going to leap. If we're to believe an unnamed source, that silence may be soon coming to an end: supposedly the company will be launching its 4G network "soon" and is rumored to have a phone and a tablet prepped for launch right away. The suspected devices? None other than the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy Tab 8.9. If this happens sometime in the fall, such a move would put Bell in the running to become the second carrier in Canada to adopt the next-gen standard -- Telus and Sasktel are expected to upgrade next year -- which gives advocates of choice some wonderful things to look forward to over the next twelve months.

Cueboy Quest is an adorable 8-bit style physics game

Yes, that's right, I said adorable. Because Cueboy Quest really is!

You play an 8-bit cowboy whose goal on each level is to get to the door (and thus to the next level), but the door is often locked. To get it to open, you must shoot at one or more targets, and those targets aren't always in your line of sight. For example, on one level the the target is a balloon which is stuck all the way at the other end of the screen. You must first nudge it free, and then watch it float up and try to shoot it before it floats clear off the screen. Your bullets are chunky pixels that have some weight - the have arcing trajectories, so you don't always hit exactly where you aim.

There's another level where you must jump on the balloon as it floats up, use it as a platform to get to the other end of the screen, and then turn to shoot it very quickly before it flies away. Each level is very short, and most of them are quite easy. And not only are the graphics 8-bit blocky, but they're large too. Simply beautiful!
